Song Choice and Copyright Email

As I stated in my initial ideas post, we chose the folk song "Elysium" by band Bears Den. In this post I have uploaded the song from you tube so you could get an idea of the style and genre we have went for. The song links with our ideas of making a video with lots of natural scenery, symbolising growth in us as individuals.

As a group we agreed that this is a very inspiring song, which would interplay with our ideas very successfully. One aspect of the song that is very important is the lyrics, and we also think these fit in well with what we want to represent in our video, that being nature, growth, friendship and freedom.

Lyrics:
Brother do you believe in an afterlife
Where our souls will both collide
In some great Elysium
Way up in the sky
Free from our shackles, our chains
Our mouths, our brains
We'll open all the gates
And we will walk careless
Straight into the light

I've never felt so enlightened
With every page I turn
I only find myself feeling more alone
Posing questions to a silent universe
My very thoughts a curse
They just seem to multiply
Forever in my mind

Brother don't grow up
Brother please never grow up

Hold out against the night
Guard your hope with your life
For the darkness, she will come
Oh and you will have nowhere left to run

Oh but your eyes are wider than mine
And help me to sleep
I just hope that age does not erase
All that you see
Don't let bitterness become you
Your only hopes are all within you

Hold out against the night
Guard your hope with your life

However, for us to use this song, we must have copyright permission, and so Matthew emailed the production company of the song. Matthew emailed the production company to ask if we could use their song for our group coursework. Matthew found the production companies email on the communications records website in the contact us area. Once he found the email Matthew went on Gmail and asked if he could use their song. We need the copyright permission asap to be able to begin composing the music video. The song is vital because it lets us know what shots to gain, what motion, what colour scheme etc.

It seems that the text is white on white and the email link needs to be bigger please so the viewer can read it. Thanks
