Bandura's Research Into Media and Imitation

Bandura conducted a social learning theory study, to investigate the influence of observation of media can have on audiences.

Image result for bobodollBendura did this using a sample of children split into two groups; one group watched a video of a man hitting a bobo doll aggressively, and the other group watched a video where a man acted non aggressively to the same bobo doll. The the children were put in a room with various toys to play with, including that of the bobo doll similar to as which was in the video.
Bandura found that the children who watched the aggressive video, hit and punched the doll significantly more than the children in the other group

It was concluded from this study that audiences learn through vicarious reinforcement an imitate behaviours, attitudes and actions in media products. This theory could be applied when produced my music video as audiences are likely to look up to my group, the stars in the video, and are likely to observe and possibly imitate actions and behaviours in the video. Therefore, it is important to gather a video which includes the same behaviour of the genre of my choice, so that audiences can relate to the video.
