Camera shots and angles

Extreme wide shot
The view is so far from the subject that he is not even visible. Often used as an establishing shot





Very wide shot
The subject is visible (barely), but the emphasis is still on placing him in the environment
Wide shot
The subject takes up the full frame, or at least as much as comfortably possible.


Mid shot
Shows some part of the subject in more detail while still giving an impression of the whole subject





Medium close up
Half ay between an MS and CU




Close up
A certain feature or part of the subject that takes up the whole frame.

Extreme close up
The ECU gets right in and shows extreme detail

Cut in
Shows other parts of the subject in detail






Cutaway
A sot of something other than the subject

Two shot
A shot of two people, framed similarly to a med shot.


Point of view (POV)
point of view shot  is a short film scene that shows what a character is looking at.


Over the shoulder shot
shot of someone or something taken from the perspective or camera angle from the shoulder of another person. So from this picture it is the artists POV from the stage.
