Group B Formation and Initial Ideas

In my media lesson today our class were told that we would continue our media coursework in groups, and formulate a music video, album packaging and a poster for our final piece. Because we only have a class of six, we decided to make two groups of three. We all agreed that it would be fair if we did a draw to see who was in group A and Group B. I was drawn out in group B with Boj Gonzaga and Matthew Dagnall.
I knew this would be a successful group as I have been friends with these two individuals for around 7 years, and so I knew we would work extremely well together. The three of us had a meeting and all discussed what we had been doing in our individual blogs, and how we could bring all our ideas from our blogs together to form a final idea for our music video. Before we formed this group we all posted a blog individually which was an analysis of 4 music videos we like. We all came together and therefore had 12 music videos, but we had to broaden it down to 3 we liked the most (1 each, preferably our favorite).

I have constructed a power point explaining our initial ideas for our final project. In this power point I have included the 3 videos we chose for inspiration, and how we could take ideas from these. So here are print screens from my power point below.

As you can see in the powerpoint we had a very informative and productive lesson today. We really put our heads down and came to a our final ideas. We have chose to do a folk video, taking massive inspiration of the images from the video of  "I'll show you" by Justin Bieber, and the song "Elysium" by Bears Den. We have chose to do something like this because it emphasises the importance of friendship, aswell as nature and growth. I will look more into folk music and folk videos and what they symbolise in further posts.

I have added videos below of the 3 we decided on today in class. These are the 3 videos that will really effect our decisions on ideas in the production of our final piece.

"Ill Show You"- Justin Bieber. We took a particular likeness in the natural scenery and the fascinating images in this video.

"Elysium" - Bears Den. We especially like the song in this song, as well as its narrative and representation, as it is a sad video, but can also be seen as inspirational.

"Parklife" - Blur. The camera shots in this video are quite unusual and as a group we took a likeness to them. These are shots that could possibly inspire us in our final piece.
